After more than ten days of hard work,On February 6, this Leishenshan Hospital, with a total land area of about 328 acres and a construction area of 79,900 square meters, was officially completed and gradually handed over. The construction speed of Leishenshan shocked the world, and the stories of the workers at Leishenshan are equally moving. Under heavy responsibility, Luo Rui, an excavator operator from Shandong Lingong, went against the tide and fought hard on the front line, contributing to the fight against the epidemic!

When the epidemic broke out, 84-year-old Zhong Nanshan said, "Do not go to Wuhan unless there are special circumstances," but he insisted on "executing" and supporting the frontline construction site. Luo Rui, born after 1995 and driving Lingong equipment, is a member of the support team for the excavation and leveling of pipelines at Leishenshan Hospital. After the outbreak of the epidemic, he resolutely gave up his vacation time and signed up through his unit to rush to Jiangxia District, Wuhan, to participate in the Leishenshan Hospital project.

Luo Rui told us: In the face of the severe epidemic, as a local resident of Wuhan, I chose to stay. The Leishenshan Hospital project has heavy tasks and a large workload, which can be regarded as a race against time. There are more than 80 excavators of various sizes on the construction site.The construction team works non-stop 24 hours a day, and every corner is filled with the roar of machinery. Luo Rui is mainly responsible for the excavation, laying, and leveling of rainwater and sewage pipelines. Although the responsibility is heavy and the time is tight, he never complains of fatigue and always invests full energy into the construction. He said: This task is urgent, and I often can only sleep three to five hours. Although I am very tired, just thinking that the hospital can be completed a minute earlier means that more patients can be treated as soon as possible, I feel a great sense of accomplishment. The site is like a battlefield. Luo Rui stated that there are many challenges faced during construction, mainly three points:

The first isthe challenge of construction difficulty.The sewage treatment process standards for this Leishenshan Hospital are far higher than those of ordinary infectious disease hospitals. Luo Rui stated that during the construction period, he maintained a high level of concentration and strictly followed the quality and progress requirements for on-site operations, ensuring that the excavation of rainwater and sewage pipelines fully meets the technical requirements and standards for rainwater and medical sewage treatment at Leishenshan Hospital.

The second ispersonnel safety protection.Due to the highly infectious nature of the epidemic, personal protection has become a top priority for on-site operations. Every construction worker is required to wear protective gear for safe operations and strictly implement disinfection procedures to ensure the health of construction personnel. Luo Rui stated that at this critical moment, if one gets sick, it could affect the construction progress, so it is necessary to do everything possible to prevent this from happening and to firmly maintain the bottom line of safety in epidemic prevention.

The third isthe challenge of construction intensity.Luo Rui has participated in many earthwork projects, but this is the first time he has faced such an extremely high workload that nearly reaches human limits, like at Leishenshan. Since the Lingong equipment arrived at the Leishenshan Hospital site, construction has been carried out day and night. Luo Rui and another master work in shifts to ensure that the machines are always in operation. They work more than 10 hours a day, and the workload is very saturated. Although sometimes very tired, they dare not slack off. Luo Rui stated that under high-intensity labor, every construction worker, although very tired, is very excited and is constantly breaking through their own limits. Everyone is ready to respond and fight, giving their all for this "battle against the epidemic" in Wuhan!When asked how the food, accommodation, and epidemic prevention work for on-site construction personnel are guaranteed, Luo Rui told us that every day when entering the construction site, the hospital's epidemic prevention team uses infrared thermometers to check our temperatures and distributes two medical masks.
