Judging Track Tension
▊ Measuring track tension is very simple and can be completed in a few steps.
When the excavator is on flat ground with one side supported, be sure to operate the engine at low idle. Measure the distance between the upper side of the track plate and the lower side of the track frame to determine the tension on both sides of the tracks.
Note: Before cleaning the machine, checking, or adding grease, remove any dirt attached to the tracks.

▊ Methods to Tighten the Tracks
1. Use a grease gun to add grease to the grease fitting (1) for adjusting the tracks, which can increase the tension of the chain.
2. Move forward and backward to balance the pressure, so that the tension of the track chains on both sides will be consistent.
3. Check the tension of the track chains again, and adjust if necessary.
Note: The track springs bear strong forces, and the grease inside the cylinder is under high pressure. Incorrect adjustments or disassembly can be very dangerous; unauthorized personnel are strictly prohibited from disassembling.
▊ Methods to Loosen the Tracks
1. When releasing grease, do not rotate the grease fitting (1) more than one full turn.
2. If the grease does not safely release, raise the track and slowly rotate the track chain.
3. Once the track chain tension has been properly adjusted, tighten the grease fitting (1) with a torque of: 59±10N.m.
Note: Because there is high pressure in the grease hydraulic cylinder, grease may shoot out when loosening the grease fitting, causing serious injury. Therefore, do not face the grease fitting and slowly loosen it, and do not loosen the grease fitting more than one full turn.
Additional Notes
The excavator tracks need to be adjusted according to the working conditions on site.
1. On wide cement roads, the tracks should be adjusted tighter; if the tracks are too loose, it will cause wear on the support wheels.
2. On uneven gravel roads, the tracks can be adjusted looser compared to relatively flat roads to reduce wear. For construction on soft sandy soil, they can be loosened further to prevent slipping and reduce the load on the walking motor.
Note: When adjusting, ensure that the tension on both sides of the tracks is consistent; otherwise, it will cause the excavator to veer off course.
